Results of what is called "Semifinal of 2009"

Hi,
For those of you interested in politics, here is a million dollar question...what drives Indian politics...
1. Is it the economy
2. Is it the development
3. Is it terrorism
WHAT IS IT...
Well the results of polling in Rajasthan, MP, Chattisgarh, Miz and Delhi are out...and...Is there anyone convinced??? Can anyone justify the results???
Well Rajastan was shocking I bet even for Congress and so was Delhi...something none of us expected, not at least like this. The question looms what led to this... Is it the poor governance in Rajasthan or good propaganda in delhi... Why did congress sweep to victory is these states... Here is what i think...

Firstly, I think for the first time i am seeing this happening that the leader has stood above party in the eyes of the voters... Go back a few months ago, Modi got the biggest victory, not because of BJP not because of MODI...MODI sells in gujarat, people voted for Modi and not for BJP... History repeats... people voted for Sheila Dixit and not congress...people voted against Raje, as she failed to project herself as the unanimous leader of state... In Delhi, the BJP candidate looked like a replacement... So a good leader is what people are voting for and rightly so...

Secondly, people realise that terrorism cannot be overcome by Congress or BJP, they realise we need strict laws strict measures...they realise we need to stand together... the trend was seen, people have voted for big parties instead of independents...they are fed up of coalition, they are fed up of every government trying to just complete the term instead of completing it with grace, with honor and with fulfilled promises...

So just looking ahead towards Lok Sabha 2009, I would like to draw some conclusions:
The scenario looks bad... it looks as if we are heading towards a hung house...neither Congress nor BJP have been successful in capturing the imagination...2004 saw BJP shouting "India Shining" now its shouting "Fight Terrorism"... Congress on the other hand looks shaky... with Left most probably not backing Congress... this opens up the huge probability of third front... the problem is leadership...On one hand Dr. M has hardly injected any belief among public as far as his leadership skills are concerned, L.K Advani on other hand is seen as a naughty student who failed to learn his lessons from mentor Atalji... Maya would have been a natural choice under such circumstances but today's results have made it very clear to Maya that "Stay indoors i.e in UP"...

Such is the nature of Indian politics...one thing is sure...you can never stop writing on Indian politics...

wow!!!
i totally agree with what u hv written.Iv been glued to my TV set watching Rajdeep Sardesai figuring out what actually happened in these 5 states.
People seem to be actually voting for clean leaders. Both Sheela Dixit and Shivraj Chauhan are believed to have a clean image.
Also BJP's negative tactics seem to not have worked in Delhi.
